I was born in South Dakota but growing up I also lived in Oregon and Minnesota. Later I lived in Florida, Colorado, Arizona, North Carolina, and now I live in New Mexico. I feel enlightened by all the different things I learned from each of these places.

I went to college and completed my licensure as a Histology Laboratory Tech. I have worked in Histology a total of 35 years, mostly in the Hospital Laboratory, but also in a Coroners office, University Research, Reference Laboratory, and Doctors office.

Volunteering has always been a passion in my life. I have helped in a nursing home when I was in the Girl Scouts and have tutored adults to read. I have been part of a group called “Kids on the Block” where we put on a puppet show for elementary school children explaining disabilities. I volunteered at a Horse Rehabilitation Center that worked with children with disabilities. When I lived in Las Cruces I physically volunteered at a No Kill Cat Shelter (The Cat’s Meow), and since we moved to Aztec I still maintain their Facebook and Petfinder pages. Now I volunteer at Four Corners Equine Rescue doing whatever comes my way. From organizing Yard Sales, to making signs, to mucking and grooming. I also really enjoy the classes at the center, relearning horsemanship as well as care of the horses. My goal is to learn how to gentle a mustang.

I have currently been nominated and accepted as a Board member at Four Corners Equine Rescue and look forward to helping the Rescue accomplish great things. I’ve been told I am “aggressively helpful” and I hope I can use that trait to contribute to FCER’s mission.
